Oxford OPP nab three impaired drivers and one speeder over the weekend.
OXFORD COUNTY -- It was busy night for Oxford OPP over the weekend.
Police laid three separate impaired driving charges Saturday with the first one occurring shortly after 3:00 am on Township Road 14, just east of Oxford Road 22 in Blandford Blenheim. 30 year-old Joshua Lindsay of Wilmot Township was charged with Failing or Refusing to Provide a Breath Sample after he was pulled over for suspected impaired driving. He will answer to the charges at a later time in court.
Around 6:15 am, police responded to a single vehicle crash on the 16th Line in East-Zorra Tavistock. The driver removed the vehicle from the ditch before police arrived but was located at Oxford Road 8 and the 16th Line a short time later. Jeffrey Chartrand, 39 years-old of Bright, was charged with Driving with more than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.
Than shortly before midnight, 55 year-old Pamela Creaton of Woodstock was nabbed on Oxford Road 29 in Blandford Blenheim Township on a suspected impaired driving traffic stop. Creaton was also charged with Driving with more than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.
A 17 year-old Tillsonburg youth is now walking after his vehicle was impounded and his licence was suspended for 7 days. He faces a charge of Racing A Motor Vehicle. Police say the youth was pulled over on Simcoe Street in Tillsonburg shortly before 12:00 am last Friday after he allegedly was travelling 109 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone.
