WITAAR's annual classroom supply drive has helped many classrooms across the County this year.
OXFORD COUNTY - Classrooms in Oxford County are getting supplies.
The annual Classroom Supply Drive hosted by the Woodstock Ingersoll Tillsonburg and Area Association of Realtors will provide 150 classrooms with essential supplies. Each participating classroom received one bag containing practical supplies to support learning and help offset the costs that many educators personally absorb throughout the school year.
On September 8, WITAAR invited public school administrators across Oxford County to share a registration link with their teaching staff. The response was immediate, with all available classroom supply bags being claimed quickly by teachers from communities throughout the county, demonstrating both the demand for the program and the ongoing need for classroom support. President of WITAAR Derrek de Jonge says why it is important to run a campaign like this.
"Realtors are deeply invested in the communities we serve, and supporting local students is one of the many ways our members give back. Our members recognize that strong communities begin with strong schools. By helping equip classrooms with essential supplies, we're supporting both our educators and the students who represent the future of Oxford County."
This was the third year for the campaign, and what began as a way to support local educators has
grown into an annual effort that mobilizes Realtors to invest directly in Oxford County classrooms and help ensure students have access to the resources they need to succeed.
The Woodstock Wolverines will face off against members of the Woodstock Police Service in the first annual Friday Night Lights Charity Classic on October 30th.
