The cheque is worth $416,310 and its for hosting Gateway Casinos.
WOODSTOCK - The city of Woodstock is reaping the monetary benefits of hosting Gateway Casinos.
It has received a second quarter gaming revenue payment worth $416,310. This brings the total for this year to $867,963 so far, and the city uses the funds for its community grants program.
Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman says the local casino supports the local economy.
"OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement provides our community with a share of local casino revenue to invest and enhance the community. Gaming facilities generate economic activity, support local jobs and investment, and provide revenue that helps fund priorities that are important to the people of Ontario."
The Woodstock casino first opened back in June 2001 and the city has received a grand total of $31,195,339 from the OLG since then.
