Two canvassing kits were stolen from a residence in the Clarke and James Street area Monday morning. The kits belong to a local charity, whose name cannot yet be released. Woodstock Police say the kits contain generic identification and tax receipts. They want to remind residents to ask for photo identification when canvassers of any kind come to the door. Any legitimate canvasser will have proper identification and will provide it when asked. You can also contact the local charity to confirm the legitimacy of the canvasser or call police.
