The changes coming to the OLG Slots at the Woodstock Raceway are fully supported by City Council. That comes after the province has asked each gaming municipality to voice their commitment. Mayor Pat Sobeski says next the lottery corporation will be putting out requests for proposals and companies will bid on the facilities. The city will play the waiting game until then. "So along the way, really what the city has to do is to make sure that our zoning permits gaming and those types of municipal support. But right now it's kind of the sit back and see who bids and who the successful organization is," said Sobeski. A private sector operator could potentially take over by April 1st of next year.
