Music from the second World War will be performed at the Maranatha Church next Saturday.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Choralaires will be singing songs from the second World War next Saturday.
The Choralaires will be performing "Songs Of Love And Land" their newest concert in commemorating the 75th anniversary of D-Day at the Maranatha Church. The show will feature popular music in both English and French from the 30s and 40s.
Choralaires member Elizabeth Lemon is excited about some of the pieces they're going to sing.
"We are going to be doing a group of songs that were known amongst the allies like Vera Lynn's We will meet again. There will be about 20 songs in the program."
Lemon hopes the music will bring good memories to listeners.
" I think a lot of people will reminisce when they hear the songs, we did a concert a couple years ago called The Music From The Golden Age Of Movies, and people loved being taken back and the memories from the time. In this show we have a section called Keep The Home Fires Burning and we are singing a number of Canadian folk songs so there will be a variety of songs to bring memories back for people."
There are two show times available for the concert at 2 and 7pm on April 27th.
