Tillsonburg Little School given the green light to open a daycare at the end of the month
Another 42 childcare spaces are opening in Tillsonburg.
This comes after County Council approved the service contract with Tillsonburg Little School Wednesday.
President of the Board of Directors Jo Vallee says they are hoping to open on January 27.
"We will have a toddler group that will have 2 spots for 15 month old children, but mostly 18 months to about 2 years and then we have 2 preschool classrooms for children from about 2 until they go to school which with full day learning that varies now."
Vallee says they are hoping to fill the gap left after the First Baptist Weekday Nursery closed nearly two years ago.
"When the doors closed at that daycare there were a lot of families that weren't getting serviced anymore. We're really hopeful that we can fill that gap in Tillsonburg and provide care for families in the area that are in need and have been for the last couple of years."
The Tillsonburg Little School has hired all of the staff previously at the First Baptist Weekday Nursery.
Vallee says the rates will vary from $37.50-$39.50 per day.
The daycare will be located at 102 King Street East in Tillsonburg.
