MP for Oxford Dave MacKenzie encourages organizations to apply for the New Horizons for Seniors Program.
A federal funding program benefiting seniors is now accepting applications.
MP for Oxford County Dave MacKenzie encourages organizations to consider applying for the New Horizons for Seniors Program. This funding initiative is meant to help empower senior citizens to stay involved in their community as well as enhancing their wellbeing.
MacKenzie says several Oxford County organizations have been successful in the past and he'd like to see that continue.
"We'd certainly love to see our community take part in this and continue on with it because it does give access to a lot of facilities for seniors that they may have been unable to take part in until this money became available."
Some of those organizations include the Southgate Centre and several churches according to MacKenzie.
Eligible groups could receive up to $25,000 in funding.
Proposals can be submitted online and they must be in by June 23rd.
