The streams and rivers are already running high and todays weather will only make it worse.
UTRCA - With all of the rain we're getting, the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) is stressing the importance of staying away from local bodies of water.
It says the streams and rivers are still running high after the rain and the snowmelt over the weekend and today's weather will only make it worse. Stream banks could be slippery and unstable and the water is also very cold and fast moving, which could be very dangerous if anyone falls in.
The conservation authority is also reminding everyone to stay out of flooded areas and not to drive through flooded roadways.
A flood watch is in effect for the UTRCA. Environment Canada has also issued a yellow warning for rainfall in Oxford County, with 20 to 40 milimetres of rain possible for today.
We have issued a Flood Watch - Update as rain will bring water levels back up tomorrow and into Thursday. More rain is forecast at the end of the week and weekend. Remember to use extreme caution around all waterways and stay out of flooded areas. More at: https://t.co/OVwgLKMQZV pic.twitter.com/2XWKEX7e4x
