Community members have lent a helping hand to a family in Centreville. The Johnstone's needed to access their house?s considerable equity, only to learn that their property was significantly devalued. The home had lost one-third of its value because of its proximity to Walker Industries? proposed landfill site. After losing a family member back in 2011, they needed the extra funds. That's when the community came together helping raise 13-thousand dollars. Now mortgage payments, property taxes and minor repairs can be made on the home for 2013. Mother of two, Christine Johnstone said she was overwhelmed by the community's generosity.
