211 is a free service that connects people with social, government and community supports.
OXFORD COUNTY - It is National 211 Day across Canada.
211 Day celebrated today, as it marks the second month and 11th day, and helps those in need. United Way Oxford helps fund the program, and Executive Director, Kelly Gilson gives a brief history of the program in the County.
"211 for Oxford County has been available to serve our community since 2010. It is a 24-hour, seven-day a week, free, and confidential information and referral service."
Gilson adds how the service has helped residents.
"In 2025, we had over 1,000 Oxford County residents call 211."
Gilson mentions last year the top two needs were for housing and mental health/substance use disorders. 211 provides anonymous data to help communities build the case for investing in additional services.
You can also access the 211 service online here.
