Upper Thames Conservation Authority urges caution around waterways
Officials with the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority are asking local residents to avoid going anywhere near local water courses.
Water levels are high after 25mm of rain this weekend, combined with temperatures above freezing causing snowpack to melt.
There's been no flooding, but some smaller water bodies are at capacity, according to the Upper Thames.
Adding to the danger, is slick and icy conditions along river banks, which can make falling in the water easy if you venture too close.
Residents should make especially sure their kids or pets don't venture close to streams, rivers, lakes and ponds over the next few days.
