OPP shut down part of the 401 near Cambridge to investigate an "attempted murder".
Update (3:45PM): OPP have re-opened the highway.
OPP are investigating what they're calling an "attempted murder" on the 401 near Cambridge this afternoon.
All westbound lanes have been closed between Highway 6 North and Townline Road, although it is expected to open at around 4PM.
It started early this morning (5:30) with a wrong-way driver being pulled over. It reportedly attempted to leave, and rammed a police cruiser. The man was arrested about 1km away from the incident.
Around the same time, police say a badly injured person walked into a 401 service centre, needing help. They had somehow exited a vehicle on the highway in the same area, and suffered serious injuries.
Police are still piecing the events together, leading to the closure of the highway.
We'll have more information as it becomes available.
