It looks like the death blow has been dealt to horse racing in Woodstock. Winrac has filed to the Ontario Racing Commission to have the Woodstock license cancelled. It will be effective on May 19th, but no race dates have been scheduled this year for the Woodstock Racetrack. Winrac continues to operate races in Dresden, who received 16 race dates for this year. The horse racing industry in the region has been hurt by the provincial government's claw back of slot machine revenues that supported purse money for races in Ontario.
