Meals on Wheels resumes in Woodstock, thanks to the CAW
Meals on Wheels will be rolling once again in Woodstock today.
The program has been in hiatus this week, after severe water damage caved the roof in at the VON Oxford building over the weekend.
But the program that delivers meals to over 200 local seniors will resume today, thanks to the Woodstock CAW Hall lending the use of their kitchen.
Care and Service Manager Robin Kish tells Heart FM it should only be for a few days. "We are hoping to be back to business as usual for the Meals on Wheels and Adult Day program on Monday."
But for the office area that saw the flooding, Kish says it will be at least a month until all the damage is repaired. "We've received some positive news today, and we're very pleased and fortunate. But at this time we're not sure how long our overnight respite program will be placed on hold for. It is our goal to be able to provide as much support for our clients as possible and get that program back up and running as soon as we're able."
In the meantime, office staff will continue working out of Sakura house.
