It's a day of fun hosted by the local hockey community in Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - It's a celebration of all things hockey in the Friendly City.
Thre fourth annual Woodstock Hockey Day will be taking place at the Reeves Community Complex this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m..
Tarnya Petch is on the organizing committee and she gives us some of the background information.
"Hockey Day is a day celebrate everything that there is about hockey. It was created to bring the community together to check out what Woodstock Minor Hockey and the Woodstock Navy Vets have to offer. We also have a Woodstock Wildcats team joining us this year which is great!"
She says there will be lots of free activities for the whole family to enjoy.
"We've got trick-or-treating, a scavenger hunt, a penalty box photo booth, henna tattoos, and balloon artists. We also have some hockey presentations and activities outside from Cro's Sports Zone, Mallozzi Hockey Academy, and Prospects Paradise."
They will also have yard games and the Woodstock Fire Department will be on site for touch-a-truck.
Petch says the day will have some activities that will cost money. There will be a dunk tank fundraiser, a video game trailer, and the Woodstock Navy Vets will be on site to meet fans and sign autographs. The Vets will be located close to the photo booth, so you might be able to snap a picture with your favourite player as well.
