During an interview this morning, Mayor Jerry Acchione talked about a proposal for 19 new townhouse units on Mill Street in Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - A new townhouse complex could be on the horizon for the City of Woodstock.
Mayor Jerry Acchione says council will look over a proposal for 19 new townhouse units on Mill Street.
"Three different blocks; a six-unit, two five-units, and a three-unit townhouse. So that will just past the Church of the Nazarene."
This Thursday's agenda also includes a motion to include the purchase of two new waste collection vehicles, which will cost about $940,000 (including HST) from the Equipment Reserve. Acchione says the new vehicles replace two of the older ones we already have.
"They're just becoming way too unreliable. So two trucks are available, they will still take a while to get here but we're going to get them within the year instead of three years potentially."
During his interview with Dan and Marcie this morning, Mayor Acchione also talked about additional residential units, the dredging of the pond by the Woodstock Fanshawe campus, and his recent visit to our sister city of Sylvania, Ohio. You can listen to the full interview below:
Councillor Mark Schadenberg's motion regarding consumption treatment sites will also be on the floor for discussion this Thursday. He's asking his fellow councillors to vote against having a site in Woodstock.
The City Council meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and you can find the agenda online here. You can also livestream the meeting on the City of Woodstock YouTube page.
