Divisions of the Woodstock Police Service executed a warrant and seized a loaded handgun.
WOODSTOCK - A loaded handgun is off the streets of Woodstock.
Police were involved in a weapons investigation, and members of the Woodstock Police Service Criminal Intelligence and Drug Enforcement Unit initiated the investigation with the assistance of the Community Response Unit.
Last Friday (March 22nd), a search warrant was executed on a suspect's vehicle after reports of them having a firearm.
As a result, the loaded handgun was seized. A 41-year-old Mississauga woman is facing 6 counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, one count of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo, and one count of failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court.
