After a cool start to the week, we should be returning to seasonal temperatures very soon.
The long term forecast is calling for lots of sunshine and above average temperatures in Oxford County for the rest of the summer.
Meteorologist with Environment Canada Geoff Coulson tells Heart FM the end of the cool temperatures should start this weekend.
"Normal highs for this time of year should be around 24 degrees Celsius and we are looking at daytime highs for 26 this coming weekend, and generally the trend to finish off the month of August and into the first part of September is expected to be a little warmer than normal. Now those normal daytime highs are going to drop off a bit as we get into September."
Coulson says they anticipate we will start to head back to normal temperatures for this time of the year around mid September or even just after Labour Day. As for farmers that are checking the forecast for frost, they don't anticipate temperatures dropping to the freezing mark anytime soon in Oxford County.
"With the forecast expected to be a little bit above normal for the next 7-10 days we don't expect any issues, however the weather is expected to get a little bit cooler especially at night towards the middle of September."
