The Norfolk OPP will be on site for the Friday the 13th celebrations in Port Dover today.
PORT DOVER - Another Friday the 13th is upon is in southwestern Ontario.
This means lots of motorcyclists will be heading to Port Dover today for the annual celebration. Whether the day brings rain, snow or sunshine, OPP Sergeant Ed Sanchuk says there is always a turnout.
"In February, we did have some motorcyclists arrive in Port Dover. It was a busy day, but there were no major events or incidents reported which is good news. As people descend on Port Dover this Friday the 13th in March, we are asking everyone to act in a safe, mature, and responsible manner."
You might run into more motorcycles than usual on the roads today, so Sanchuk is reminding drivers out there to check their blind spots, especially at intersections.
He's also reminding motorcyclists to drive according to the road conditions and to dress in bright clothes so they are more visible on the roads.
"I know what we have investigated several crashes involving motorcycles at intersections on Friday the 13th. So we just want to make sure everyone is driving safely and riding safely."
There will be a Norfolk OPP presence in and around Port Dover today, to make sure everyone is being safe while also having a good time.
Looks like snow for Friday the 13th in #PortDover. The #OPP is reminding all motorists that they may encounter motorcyclists on our roadways. Always check twice when changing lanes or at intersections, it will save a life! @NorfolkCountyCA #NorfolkOPP ^es pic.twitter.com/ypIN0w4Lb4
