It's a new lease on work-life for medical professionals in Woodstock. Last night, a dedication ceremony was held for the new Woodstock Hospital Professional Building, which is just west of the new hospital on Athlone Ave. It houses three professional services including Oxford ProResp, which handles equipment and services for those with respiratory ailments. Branch Manager Tom Rice says they're enjoying their new space. "I think the biggest advantage is being right adjacent to our partner at the hospital. It gives us a higher profile to the clients that we serve, because they're coming from the hospital." The biggest tenant in the new building is Regional Support Associates, handles a wide range of psychiatric and behavioural services, covering 12 counties in southern Ontario. Director Jason Young says they now have a space specifically designed for them. "We were given the benefit this time as the hospital was developing the building, we were able to have input in how it was designed and we were able to design it with the types of services that we offer in mind." And Director of the Woodstock Rehabilitation Clinic, Arlene Whitehead says they are also enjoying having more space in the new building. "We have more private assessment areas, which increases confidentiality. We also do a fair bit of acupuncture and hands-on therapy, so the added privacy is nice." There is still 10,000 square-feet of raw space in the building, with expansion potential for another 10,000 square-feet in the future.
