The 8x8 mural will be installed on the side of the arena on Mill Street.
PLATTSVILLE - It's going to be a big year for the Plattsville community.
It will be celebrating it's 175th birthday on June 20th, 2026 and plans are underway for a big celebration.
Blandford-Blenheim Council approved a request from the Plattsville Heritage Society during the meeting on Wednesday January 14th. The Plattsville 175 Committee is making plans to install a special 8x8 mosaic mural on the side of the arena on Mill Street and allow residents to purchase special kits so they can paint the 4x4 tiles that bring form the artwork. The tiles would be 4x4 in size and there would be 576 of them total.
Council approved the mural installation, but it is subject to review from Township staff and the Plattsville 175 Committee will be responsible for its maintenance.
In her letter to Council, Heritage Society President Denise Tew mentioned that this is all possible thanks to a $10,400 grant from Canadian Heritage to make this possible.
