Ingersoll's Chief Administrative Officer Darell Parker says he is "happy to report that John Holmes, a long time resident, is the new Fire Chief". Parker says "John has been a part time firefighter, volunteer firefighter for the town of Ingersoll for 18 years and held the rank of Lieutenant". According to Parker, Holmes' years of experience and natural leadership skills were part of the qualifications that made him the best candidate for the position. The town received 26 applications in total from within and outside of the county. The appointing by-law will be held at Town Council Monday night and Holmes will assume the duties of Fire Chief on January 1st, 2013.
