It did not take long for Oxford County's new year baby to be delivered.
Norwich's Barbara and Gideon Miller welcomed Malinda Miller into the world at 12:41 a.m. on January 1st at Woodstock General Hospital.
We're happy to report both mom and baby are happy and healthy. Malinda weighed in at 7-lbs.,12-ounces.
The New Year's baby is more than just bragging rights, baby Malinda and her parents go home with a few goodies, including an embroidered New Year's Baby blanket.
Meantime, a Toronto-area mother is being credited with giving birth to a hospital's last baby of 2013 and its first of 2014. The rare timing of the births happened as the woman was give birth to twin girls at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. The babies were born minutes apart and will celebrate different birthdates -- baby Gabriela on December 31st, 2013 and Sophia on January 1st, 2014.
