Centres will start re-opening this week
The federal government says the Nexus traveler program will return within the next few weeks.
For nearly a year, registering for the program has been halted in Canada due to clashes with the U.S. over legal protections.
The problems created a significant backlog in applications for the program, which gives pre-approved travelers the ability to cross the border more quickly.
According to the Canada Border Services Agency, enrolment centres will re-open at the Halifax and Winnipeg airports on March 27th.
This will be followed by a staggered re-opening at the other six airports offering the service.
The service will return to airports in Ottawa and Toronto on April 24th.
