Another major industrial expansion is about to begin in Woodstock. North American Stamping Group has announced a 70,000-square-foot expansion to open up new warehouse and manufacturing space. The expansion will also open up some additional office space. Perhaps more importantly, 50-60 new jobs will be opening up. They will be in the high skilled areas of tool & die and design. Woodstock Mayor Pat Sobeski says it's great to see a local company continuing to grow. "They've done nicely in the city, they've expanded here, and they've also expanded into the United States and Mexico. So it's a growing company and it's a credit to the management here that they've been able to convince the board of this multi-national that the place to located this new addition is in Woodstock." Formerly known as Woodstock Stampings, the facility provides metal stampings and welded assemblies to the auto industry. In a press release issued by City Hall, the company states, ?This growth reflects our continued investment in our business and community. This expansion has been made possible through the support of our customers and the incredible work ethic and dedication of our associates who always find a way to get a challenging job done.? Pat Sobeski on what role the city will play in making the expansion happen. "We're going to have to do some road work at the end of the cul-de-sac, so we've gotta change the road design. There was a sale of some land. And we've got to move some hydro equipment around to facilitate it." But, he says it's well worth the effort, to bring new, quality jobs to the city.
