The Province of Ontario is confirming 78 new cases of COVID-19 this morning.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario is confirming 78 new cases of COVID-19 this morning.
This is the biggest single day increase since the pandemic start in our Province. To date, Ontario has 489 active positive cases, 8 have been resolved and 6 people have died.
The numbers today include a man from Elgin County. Most of the cases are from Toronto or the GTA. Most of the cases are travel related or from someone who has been in close contact with some who has already contracted the virus. 29 of the cases are pending.
The Province of Ontario updates these numbers twice a day at 10:30 am and 5:30 pm. Premier Doug Ford will be joined by Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, Todd Smith, Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, Steve Clark, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, and Rod Phillips, Minister of Finance, to make an announcement at Queens Park today at 1:00 p.m.
