Restaurant patios, non-essential retail stores and drive in movie theatres will reopen today as Ontario enters Phase 1 of reopening.
OXFORD COUNTY - Ontario has officially entered Phase 1 of reopening.
This means restaurant patios will reopen across Oxford County today, with groups of up to four people permitted for each table.
Non-essential retail stores will be able to reopen at 15 percent capacity, however retail stores in malls will remain closed unless they have a street facing entrance.
Essential retail stores will be able to have up to 25 percent capacity. Big box and discount stores like Walmart and Dollarama will be also be able to sell all goods.
Outdoor swimming pools, splash pads and wading pools will be able to open with limited capacity and physical distancing protocols in place.
The Oxford Drive-In will also be able to reopen this evening and the Salford landfill will reopen to residential customers at 8:30 a.m. this morning.
Provincial officials will monitor COVID-19 trends over the next 21 days. If everything goes well, Ontario could enter Phase 2 of reopening as early as July 2nd.
