It looks like high school sports will resume in the spring, and clubs even sooner. Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation has announced they are suspending their political action and will resume their extracurricular duties. They were being withheld in protest of the government impose contracts on them. In a press release, the OSSTF says it's a "sign of goodwill" from their members, in hopes of "prompting" the government towards a solution in their impasse. It's not known what caused the latest development. Premier Kathleen Wynne and Education Minister Liz Sandals will be taking questions later this afternoon, while the union will hold a news conference on Monday. It's not yet known when teachers might resume extracurriculars, or if elementary teachers will follow the lead.
