The Woodstock Navy Vets beat the Mounties 5-4 on Friday and celebrated a 4-3 overtime win over the Shamrocks yesterday. They're going to be in Paris tonight for another matchup against the Mounties.
PJHL - It was a good weekend for the Woodstock Navy Vets
Woodstock celebrated a 5-4 win over the Paris Mounties at Southwood Arena on Friday. Ethan Szabo scored two goals for the Vets and Graeme Noye finished the night with 35 saves.
The Navy Vets also beat the Hespeler Shamrocks 4-3 in overtime yesterday. Jake Phelan scored the game-winning goal for Woodstock.
The Vets will be back in action tonight, taking on the Mounties in Paris. The puck will drop at 7:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Tavistock Braves suffered a 6-2 loss to the New Hamburg Firebirds on Friday, but they also beat the Norwich Merchants 7-4 on Saturday.
The Firebirds are currently leading the Doherty Division standings with 57 points. They're followed by the Wellesley Applejacks with 52 points, the Merchants with 43 points, the Braves with 38 points, the Navy Vets with 31 points, the Shamrocks with 14 points, and the Mounties with eight points.
In the Yeck Division, the Thamesford Trojans demolished the Aylmer Spitfires 9-2 on Friday and tied the Port Stanley Sailors 2-2 on Saturday. The Trojans are currently sitting in third place with 45 points, behind the Mounty Brydges Bulldogs with 46 points and the North Middlesex Stars with 48 points.
