The town has launched an online survey and it will be hosting two open houses.
TILLSONBURG - The Town of Tillsonburg is looking for public feedback.
The town is looking at potentially becoming a film-friendly community. The initiative seeks to strengthen local economic activity, attract visitors, and promote Tillsonburg’s unique character to film and television producers. Development Commissioner, Cephas Panschow says Mayor, Deb Gilvesy is behind this idea.
"She really tasked staff with looking into this and figuring out if it would be a good opportunity for the town. So, we've done a lot of the background work, but again, going back to the reason for this public consultation is that we really wanted to say to the community, is this something you want us to pursue? Do you agree with us that these benefits are significant?"
Panschow adds how you can share your thoughts.
"We do have a survey, and we're looking for members of the public to respond and let us know what they think. Do they want us to try to attract film productions here?"
Besides the survey, the Town is also hosting an in-person and virtual open house. The in-person event will be at the Tillsonburg Community Centre on February 24th, while the virtual session takes place on March 5th.
