Voters in Oxford County will be heading to the polls for the federal byelection on Monday June 19th.
OXFORD COUNTY - A federal byelection date has been set for Oxford County.
According to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's office, local voters will be heading to the polls on Monday June 19th to select our next Member of Parliament. Advanced polls will be open from June 9th to June 12th.
Dave MacKenzie officially stepped down as our Conservative MP at the end of January after representing Oxford County for almost 20 years.
The local Conservative Party has selected Arpan Khanna as its candidate for Oxford and the Oxford NDP announced Cody Groat as its candidate. The Liberal nomination vote will be taking place today.
Voters in three other federal ridings will be heading to the polls for byelections on Monday June 19th; Portage–Lisgar (Manitoba), Winnipeg South Centre (Manitoba), and Notre-Dame-de-Grâce–Westmount (Quebec).
