Monday marks the 10 year anniversary of Tori Stafford's kidnapping.
OTTAWA - The Justice 4 Tori protest is happening on Monday in Ottawa at the Parliament Hill.
Tori Stafford's Father Rodney is leading the protest on the 10 year anniversary of the day his daughter was murdered.
"We want to push that life means life, so when a sentence is imposed the Judge in the courts, 25 maximum life sentence that, that decision is upheld."
Stafford was furious to learn last year that one of Tori's killers Terri Lynne McClintic had been moved to an Aboriginal Healing Lodge, while the other killer, Michael Rafferty was moved to a medium security prison. Both of Tori's killers are currently serving time in medium security prisons as opposed to a maximum security prison.
Stafford says he be joined by several families going through similar circumstances and everyone is invited to join him in Ottawa on Monday.
"There will be many families there that are currently going through the exact same situation that I am, have gone through the situation in the past that didn't realize they had a voice and there is actually victims right now going through the system, that haven't even hit the court system yet."
Stafford says they want to send a message that anyone who takes the life of an innocent child, a disabled, vulnerable handicapped or elderly person that is given a life sentence should remain in secure maximum prison for Life. No leniencies, no lowered security, no day passes, no cushy living arrangements, no special privileges and no freedoms.
