Premier Doug Ford will be holding a press conference at 2:00 p.m. today and he's going to update the province's COVID-19 booster shot strategy.
ONTARIO - Ontario is about to update it's COVID-19 booster shot strategy.
Premier Doug Ford will be holding a press conference at 2:00 p.m. today. He will be joined by Deputy Premier/Health Minister Christine Elliott, Solicitor General Sylvia Jones and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore.
Adults over the age of 50 became eligible for the booster shot on Monday, as long as they received their second dose at least six months ago.
The province is currently planning to lower the age of eligibility to 18 on January 4th, but that could change following today's announcement.
Ontario reported over 1,400 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. Dr. Moore says the new Omicron variant makes up about 30 percent of the new cases reported each day and he's expecting that number to jump to 100 percent by the end of the month.
