
Ella Shelton will sport a Toronto Sceptres jersey for the 2025/2026 PWHL season.
TORONTO - Oxford County's Ella Shelton is leaving the Big Apple and moving closer to home.
She was traded from the New York Sirens to the Toronto Sceptres yesterday in exchange for Toronto's first round pick (third overall) and fourth round pick (27th overall) in the 2025 Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) draft.
Shelton grew up in Foldens but she played hockey in Ingersoll. She eventually became an Olympic gold medalist and won several world championships.
She has been a defender for the New York Sirens for two seasons now. She also scored the first goal in PWHL history in 2024, securing her spot in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
