OLG issues Woodstock cut of fourth-quarter non-tax gaming revenue.
WOODSTOCK -- The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation Thursday issued a fourth-quarter gaming revenue payment of over $327,844 to the City of Woodstock for hosting OLG Slots at Woodstock Raceway.
To date, the agreement with OLG has benefited Woodstock to the tune of more than $13.4-million in non-tax gaming revenue.
Host OLG municipalities like Woodstock invest the shared gaming site revenues in local programs and infrastructure projects.
The revenue fee is what municipalities receive for hosting an OLG gaming facility and are based on an escalating scale of slot machine revenue consistent across all sites in Ontario.
At over $2-billion annually, OLG provides the provincial government with its largest source of non-tax gaming revenue.
Every year, the Ontario government allocates funding to the province's problem gambling program for research, treatment and prevention. The amount for this year alone is $41-million going toward helping problem gambling initiatives.
