Dangerous blowing snow conditions should have drivers thinking twice.
Police are strongly advising the public not to head out onto the roads this morning.
Especially for rural residents where blowing snow has caused some major drifting overnight.
Some of the drifts stand 2-3 feet tall, making some local roadways are impassible for most vehicles.
Factor in blowing snow reducing visibility and conditions are not safe for travel this morning.
In fact, several Perth and Huron County Roads were forced to close, and Elgin County pulled their snowplows off the roads for safety.
The snowfall is expected to die down, starting around noon today, but the wind is expected to shift to the northwest, and will be persistent all day in the 40 to 60km/h range.
A second system of snowfall is expected to arrive on Sunday, that could bring another 5cms of snowfall to Oxford County.
Keep tuned to Heart FM this weekend for the latest road conditions and weather updates.
