After being involved in a collision driver fled on foot.
BLANDFORD BLENHEIM TOWNSHIP - Shortly before 9:30 pm yesterday evening Oxford OPP responded to a collision on the 401 near Oxford Road 29 in the township of Blandford Blenheim. A green four door Acura that was heading eastbound struck a tractor trailer heading westbound then losing control striking another tractor trailer. The driver fled on foot from the scene abandoning the vehicle before the arrival of police.
After an extensive search that involved OPP officers, OPP Emergency Response Team, and even a canine unit the hunt was called off with no success in locating the driver. It was later discovered that the vehicle involved was reported stolen from London earlier yesterday evening.
The vehicle was towed from the scene with no injuries. If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of the driver Oxford OPP would like to hear from you.
