Strong Winds Expected in Oxford

Environment Canada says we could experience wind gusts between 70 and 90 kilometres per hour later today.

OXFORD - We're in for a windy start to the weekend in Oxford County.

Environment Canada says we could experience wind gusts up to 60 kilometres per hour this afternoon, but they could strengthen and reach 70 to 90 kilometres per hour in the early evening hours. Those winds should diminish overnight.

Strong winds can easily toss around loose objects and break tree branches. They could also lead to power outages.

This is all covered under a special weather statement issued by Environment Canada.
