Thefts From Coin Machines

The Woodstock Police have charged a pair from the Niagara Region after suspicious activity at coin machines.

WOODSTOCK - A pair from the Niagara Region are facing charges thanks to an alert Woodstock business owner.

The owner noticed two suspicious people using a coin machine at his Ingersoll Road business on Friday, December 23rd around 2:45 p.m.

A coin machine had been stolen from this business in the past, and the owner recognized the vehicle from that incident. He quickly called the Woodstock Police.

An officer later found the vehicle in the parking lot of a Dundas Street business that had another coin machine. The two suspects were inside with a large amount of change.

Both people were arrested and charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of A Coin Operated Device Breaking Instrument.

A 39 year old man from Welland is also facing charges of Possession of A Schedule I Substance and failing to comply with a probation order.
