Miracle Treat Day Arrives in Oxford

Staff photo

Dairy Queen will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from Blizzard sales to local children's hospitals today.

OXFORD - You can enjoy a delicious frozen treat and support a local cause at the same today.

It's Miracle Treat Day at Dairy Queen locations across the country today, where 100 percent of the proceeds from Blizzard sales will support 13 different childrens hospitals.

We have three Dairy Queen locations in Oxford County; one in Woodstock (638, Dundas Street), one in Tillsonburg (51 Simcoe Street), and one in Ingersoll (5 Charles Street East).

The money raised locally will be going to the Children's Health Foundation in London. President and CEO Scott Fortnum says those funds will help purchase life saving equipment, while also funding programs and research at the children's hospital and London Health Sciences Centre.

"Every Blizzard sold today translates directly into equipment, treatments, and comfort for the children and families we care for at Children’s Hospital. We're deeply grateful to Dairy Queen, their franchisees and staff, and every guest who stops in - your support genuinely changes what's possible for our patients."

Dairy Queen Canada raised over $2.3 million last year alone bringing the overall total since 1984 over $55 million.
