Up to 1.35 million Canadians visited Oxford County last year. We also welcomed 30,100 Americans.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Oxford County tourism review for 2025 was discussed at the latest Oxford County Council meeting.
The review comes out on an annual basis and Tourism Manager Meredith Maywood shared some of the highlights from the latest report.
"There were over 1.3 million trips by Canadian visitors to Oxford County, which is an increase of around 14 per cent."
Just over 30,000 of those visitors were American, so Maywood says they would like to reach more tourists from south of the border to broaden the audience of the County tourism.
"Advertising campaigns, we do those through our standard digital advertising, reaching out to nearby U.S. sisters, and we also get opportunities to partner with Destination Ontario, which helps the County reach more people through a larger advertising campaign."
Some other highlights included some of the partnerships they developed that provided more marketing opportunities, and also more opportunities to develop new products with businesses. A total of 11 new tourism-related businesses opened in Oxford last year and eight existing businesses also received significant investments.
