The Town of Ingersoll had the highest voter turnout in Oxford County last October at 46 percent.
INGERSOLL - The Town of Ingersoll recently had staff prepare a report to look at the voter turnout in October.
Mayor Ted Comiskey says he does want to know why more people don't vote in municipal elections.
"We are pretty blessed as far as I'm concerned that we had the highest voter turnout in Oxford County, we were very happy that we had that number as such but the thing is, it would be nice to see more people coming out and more people voting."
Ingersoll allowed people to vote in by mail, along with voting at the polls. Comiskey says they want to look at ways to make voting even easier in the future.
"We are looking at improving upon that for our next our election. Our Clerk is very interested to see how we will proceed with that. One of the comments from the clerk was that we would not abandon the current system, but augment on it by looking at other potential methods, which could be over the telephone or online voting."
Comiskey says obviously if you only have half the people voting, that is not good and they would want to improve on that. 46 percent of eligible voters cast their ballot in Ingersoll during the last election in October.
