Norfolk OPP rescued a man who fell into the Inner Bay at Long Point without safety equipment
OPP are asking anyone planning to head out onto the water to make sure they have the proper safety equipment on board.
This comes after a Waterloo man had to be rescued from the Inner Bay in Long Point just before 7 Saturday night.
According to Norfolk OPP, the 52 year old man had gone out in a canoe to check on some ice. It was then that his canoe tipped, causing him to fall in the water without any safety equipment.
Luckily his family watched and were able to contact emergency services.
The man was in the water for about 30 minutes and is suffering from hypothermia.
The OPP is warning anyone considering boating to be extremely cautious and understand the dangers of the water.
