As far as Woodstock Police are concerned, it's case closed in the Victoria St. explosion. Police have taken the step of concluding their investigation, after finding no criminal cause, according to Police Chief Rod Freeman. "We've decided to conclude our investigation and we felt there's no point in keeping the community waiting any longer. We haven't uncovered any criminal intent, evidence, or established any reasonable grounds to believe the explosion resulted from a criminal action." But the victims' and their families of the 2011 blast are still waiting for answers. The Ontario Fire Marshall has ordered another round of forensic testing, which could take months to conclude. Freeman says police decided to conclude the case from their end after continuous calls from the media, and Freedom of Information requests to see the OFM report, which have been denied due to the investigation still being active. He says should something of substance come out of the new forensic testing, then police would re-open the case. The Sunday morning blast on March 27th of 2011 killed two senior citizens and displaced around 100 others.
