OXFORD COUNTY - United Way Oxford has announced the Campaign Chair for 2020.
Long time United Way volunteer and previous Board Member, Marcia Shelton has been chosen for the honour.
As a member of the Woodstock Police Service for over 27 years, Shelton has seen first hand the impacts of the United Way on the community.
"I recognize the needs of our community, and its important for me to find ways to give back and truly help those in need."
Shelton agreed to take on the role in February, just prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Little did she know how the needs of the community would be increased and the challenge it would pose to the traditional fundraising efforts for the campaign.
"Through the pandemic, the donations of our supporters is even more important to support the programs and services throughout Oxford County."
Her passion and commitment to the community has made her an ideal chair to lead the campaign to success in the most trying times.
