Three local charities were the beneficiaries of Saturday night's 11th Annual Golden Gala in Woodstock. In the first year, Century 21's Golden Gala raised $50,000 for the 2001 Canada Games, and over the past nine years, they have benefited the Woodstock General Hospital Foundation by raising over $850,000. This year, VON's Sakura House and the Alzheimer Society of Oxford were the other two charities that received sizeable donations. Each of the three organizations received a cheque for $25,000 Saturday night. The money is raised through ticket sales and a silent auction. The event attracted about 425 people.
