OXFORD COUNTY - Ditch black Friday sales and bid on one of the hundreds of auction items at the Bid For Kids Sake Charity Auction.
The event supports the Big Brothers Big Sisters of of Ingersoll, Tillsonburg and area. Development Coordinator, Nicole Killare describes the highlight of the night - the hors' d'oeuvre tasting, no one will go home hungry.
"It's a full evening event. we've got some live entertainment, we've got the battle of the hors d'oeuvres so there will be some yummy tasting."
Killaire says the support from the community for the silent auction table was incredible this time around.
"There are literally hundreds of silent auction items, so it's going to be a fun night."
Tickets for the event are $50 and supports many of their local programs such as Step Up and Go Girls.
Killaire says they are currently pushing the recruitment for their programs.
"The Step up Campaign, which is the recruitment of male volunteers, there's about 60 boys waiting, so we have a big push right now. We are launching a new program in schools right now, called Game On, so when you factor in those boys, we have got quite the waiting list, so lots of volunteers are needed."
Killaire says there are many options to become involved and volunteer with the organization, depending on the amount of time the volunteer would like to commit.
Bid For Kids Sake takes place Friday, November 24th at the Lions Auditorium, Tillsonburg Community Centre.
