SOUTH-WEST OXFORD TOWNSHIP - Human remains have been found in South-West Oxford Township.
The OPP responded on Monday around 2:45 p.m. to the report of suspected human remains found on a property on Beachville Road. The investigation confirmed the remains to be human, and officers do not suspect a broader threat. Police continue to investigate, and residents in the area can expect to see an increased presence.
The Oxford OPP Crime Unit is leading the investigation, but is under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Assistance is being provided by OPP Forensic Identification Services.
The investigation is in its early stages and more information will be released when available.
