160 blankets donated to three local agencies Wednesday
WOODSTOCK - Area residents in need will stay warm this winter with the help of Cowan Insurance Group.
Account Manager Diana Andrews Fonger says together with the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario they donated 160 bipper blankets to Woodstock agencies in need Wednesday.
"The bipper is the symbol for the Insurance Brokers of Canada and they are emblazoned on the magenta blankets -- which is their signature colour -- and each year they give different brokerages opportunities to donate those blankets on awareness days just to bring awareness to the community that we are involved in their communities."
Executive Assistant at the Children's Aid Society, Denise Tew says she's thankful for the 40 blanket donation.
"The blankets will be going to families receiving services through the Children's Aid Society. Annually we hold an Angel Tree Program and children are sponsored and the community generously provides Christmas gifts for these children so the blankets will be going along with the gifts to the families."
The blankets this year were also donated to Operation Sharing's Inn Out of the Cold and Ingamo Homes.
